What is the CDJ-1500X?
The CDJ-1500X is a separate DJ player rather than an all-in-one system. Each unit controls one deck, so a conventional setup uses two or more players connected to a separate DJ mixer. Built-in Wi-Fi allows the CDJ-1500X to connect directly to compatible online music sources. StreamingDirectPlay currently supports Apple Music, Beatport Streaming and TIDAL, while rekordbox CloudDirectPlay supports Dropbox and Google Drive.

Jog wheel and performance workflow
The 1500X uses a compact jog wheel rather than the large flagship platter of the CDJ-3000X. That reduces the player’s overall width and helps it fit into smaller booths or home setups. The trade-off is less physical surface area for scratching and fine manual manipulation.
Independent testing has also highlighted that some functions found as dedicated controls on the CDJ-3000X are moved to the screen or omitted. DJs who rely heavily on key-oriented controls or dedicated performance buttons should compare the two players carefully.
Audio quality and outputs
AlphaTheta specifies a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, 105 dB signal-to-noise ratio and 0.003% total harmonic distortion. The analogue output level is 2.0 Vrms at 1 kHz.
The player provides an RCA analogue output. Unlike the CDJ-3000X, AlphaTheta’s current specification for the 1500X does not list a coaxial digital audio output.
