The Technics SL-1200M7G 55th Anniversary Edition is a limited-edition DJ turntable based on the proven SL-1200MK7 platform. Launched for the SL-1200 series’ 55th anniversary, it keeps the MK7’s coreless direct-drive motor, digital pitch control, reverse play and adjustable motor behaviour while adding distinctive gold detailing and a numbered commemorative design.
Technics is limiting worldwide production to 12,000 units across seven colourways. That makes the M7G both a working DJ turntable and a collectable version of the current MK7 platform.

Based on the MK7 platform
Underneath the special-edition styling, the M7G is fundamentally built around the current MK7 DJ platform. That means it retains the same coreless direct-drive architecture, pitch control, motor response and DJ-focused operating features rather than becoming a purely decorative collector’s model.
55th Anniversary design
The visual treatment is the main distinction. Gold details appear across the tonearm, platter edge, controls and slipmat, while an anniversary badge carries an individual serial number. Technics offers seven colour options to make the edition visually distinct from the standard MK7.
Coreless direct-drive motor
The direct-drive system uses a coreless stator to remove the cogging behaviour associated with some traditional motors. Technics combines this with digital motor control for stable rotation, high starting torque and consistent pitch response.
Pitch control and reverse playback
The long pitch fader supports ±8% and ±16% adjustment ranges. Reverse Play is also available, extending the creative options beyond normal forward playback.
Three playback speeds
In addition to 33⅓ and 45 RPM, the M7G supports 78 RPM. That makes the deck suitable for a broader range of vinyl formats and mirrors the expanded speed options of the MK7 platform.
Tonearm and cartridge flexibility
The static-balance S-shaped tonearm uses high-precision bearings and offers adjustable height and tracking force. DJs can therefore choose a cartridge and stylus appropriate to mixing, scratching or more conventional record playback.
