The Technics SL-1200MK7 / SL-1210MK7 is the current DJ-focused generation of the legendary SL-1200 series. It retains the familiar direct-drive layout, S-shaped tonearm and pitch control that made earlier models club standards, while adding a coreless motor, adjustable torque and braking, reverse playback, detachable cables and digital pitch control.
In the UK, the black SL-1210MK7 is the model most commonly associated with the current DJ range. The SL-1200MK7 shares the same core MK7 platform in other markets and finishes.

Coreless direct-drive motor
The MK7 uses a coreless direct-drive motor designed to remove the cogging behaviour associated with some traditional direct-drive motors. Technics combines that design with digital motor control to provide stable rotation, strong starting torque and consistent pitch response.
Pitch control for DJ mixing
The long pitch fader retains the familiar Technics layout but uses digital control. DJs can work within ±8% for finer tempo adjustment or switch to ±16% for a wider range. A reset control returns the deck to the standard playback speed.
Adjustable torque and braking
Starting torque and brake speed can be adjusted in four steps. That lets the deck feel be tuned for different DJ techniques rather than forcing every user into one fixed response.
Reverse Play and 78 RPM
The MK7 adds Reverse Play, giving DJs another creative playback option. Alongside the familiar 33⅓ and 45 RPM speeds, 78 RPM can also be enabled from the deck’s internal settings.
S-shaped tonearm

Detachable cables

Chassis and vibration control
An aluminium die-cast chassis is combined with a glass-fibre-reinforced ABS material to improve rigidity and damping. Spring-and-rubber insulators help reduce external vibration and acoustic feedback in loud DJ environments.
